Owen Davey
Mijn naam is Owen Davey.

About the Illustrada Festival artworks

These artworks are each taken from the pages of my About Animals series, created with Flying Eye Books. For the last 8 years, I’ve been working on a series of non-fiction animal-based children’s books. Each book looks at one type of animal and explores everything from their biology to the way they behave, how they hunt, and even the mythology and relationship humans have with them. With these titles, I want to help ignite a passion for wildlife and satisfy people’s natural curiosities. By reading the books, I want the readers to not only have learned some awesome facts about these stunning creatures but also for them to have built respect and understanding for these animals, their behaviour and the essential roles they play in our planet’s ecosystems. Essentially, I want people to care about them and want to ensure their protection. So far, the series includes Allemaal Apen, Haai Ahoi!, Wild van Katten, Knettergek van Kevers, Coole Kikkers, Ongelofelijke Octopussen and Superchille Krokodillen.

Uit dezelfde serie won ‘Bonkers About Beetles’ Best in Show in de 3×3 Professional Show 2019.
